Sheep Breeds
We breed and milk East Friesian (EF's), Awassi and Assaf (EF x Awassi) sheep. Some of our sheep are coloured black or brown and some are grey. Our best ewes are matched to rams that we hope will improve the resultant progeny. We are working on developing our own dairy breed, we are aiming to breed a mid sized ewe who will milk at least 200 litres over 200 days on grass with minimal grain.
!Update! Awassi x ewe Adhara produced 380L of milk in the 09 season her son has been retained for breeding and we will have straws available in the future
Availability and pricing
3 day old ewe and ram lambs are available from June to September-they can be air freighted to anywhere in Australia-prices start at $50 for ewes and $100 for rams and go up depending on dam and sire records/breed.
Weaned 3 month old ram and ewe lambs are available from September to December-pickup only-prices are $250 for ewe lambs and $300 up for ram lambs depending on breed and quality.
Yearling ewe and ram lambs are available March-April -pickup only, some may be exposed to ram, ram lambs capable of serving 20 or so ewes their first season-prices are $350 for ewe lambs and $400 up for ram lambs depending on breed and quality.
Older ewes and rams available March-April prices depend in past performance.
